The AMP Exam

The Montana real estate licensing exam consists of two separate sections. Each section is graded and scored separately.

The first section consists of 100 questions prepared by AMP, Inc. These questions cover the areas of financing, survey descriptions, general real estate and contract law, mathematics, horizontal property acts and the Federal Fair Housing Act. Salesperson candidates are both required to achieve a score of 80% or better.

The state section of the exam consists of 32-40 questions covering Montana laws. The questions cover such topics as licensing, trust accounts, deeds, foreclosures and the landlord-tenant acts.  Salesperson candidates must properly answer 70% of these questions.
